"I create art because I realize that there is so much more to life then the
mundane, stagnate existence that most have come to accept. We were
given life so that we could contribute to it, to give it substance, to leave
an echo of our selves behind for others to look at and say “I’m glad that person lived”.
We all choose to do this in different ways; I chose to do this with art.
Art is not just a part of my life, for me it is life; it is why I am here."

Abstract art has always fascinated me. I love the fact that you make up your own rules, only to break them! I have always been in the habit of breaking rules anyway, so abstract art is great fun for me. It can easily portray any emotion and is always packed full of passion and power.

I love fantasy art, you can make an entirely new world for yourself with fantasy. There are rarely boundaries or borders and the only time you will see anything ugly is if you want it there.

Today's generations have entered into scary times. They are desensitized and abused, they have a lack of morals and rarely can tell right from wrong. The parents care more for their jobs and appearances then actually taking the time to put real substance into their children's lives. Remember, they are children. They need to be loved, guided and disciplined.

Surrealism is the place we can warp and distort our world into something truly gruesome and it is perfect! The more wacky and disturbed, the better!

Wearable art, can't get much better then that. I really enjoy doing beadwork, the small beads and intricate designs and catch light like few other art forms can. Every piece I make is unique and one of a kind.

These wonderful little creatures are so much fun to create! They each have a life of their own and a story to go with them.

The greatest artist of all was God, he created us. The human form in all its glory and varieties.

I am Danielle Yvonne Reeder, a 28 year old art student. First and foremost, please write me an email if you have any questions. I was born and raised in Englewood, Colorado. I am an artist that enjoys dabbling in many areas of the art world.  I have been drawing since I was a small child and have entered art collage by correspondence. I am currently enrolled in The Art Instructions School of Minneapolis, MN by correspondence. I am really not limited to media or content in my art. I enjoy fantasy, surreal, abstract, nudes and realism. And I have worked in graphite, acrylic paint, oil paint, pastel, sculpture, gouache paint and beading. However, I’m always looking for an excuse to branch out and try something new. I normally listen to music or watch movies while I paint, however, I am picky about environment, it has to be calm and in a place I can feel relaxed and comfortable. How my mom ever painted in a house with two little girls I will never know. I have been drawing since I was able to hold a pencil. I think the first thing I really remember though is when The Little Mermaid came out when I was very young. I was obsessed with drawing her, all different posses and expressions. I often did this in class instead of doing what I needed to do. Now I wish I would have kept some of those drawings, but I think they got thrown out with the rest of the papers that I thought were trash in my school folders. I hit middle school and was very much into realism/fantasy and I wanted nothing more then to be like Boris Vallejo, I hit high school and got into abstract/realism mix, what my family called 'Gothic Art'. Now I change styles as often as I change clothes, it's just what ever I feel like doing. I do sell some of my art on Yessy and Ebay and I'm always open to new ideas.
